Notes about bookings made a long time in advance of proposed travel date:
If your travel plans are not definite you are advised to wait until nearer your proposed arrive day before making any payments as cancelations are likely to result in payments being forfeited.

Bookings are accepted on a first come first served basis, bookings are confirmed when payment, as stated on the quote, is received.

Some bookings will have further payment(s) detailed on your quote. Failure to make payments as detailed on your invoice may result in your booking being cancelled and monies paid forfeited.

Payment in full will be required prior to, or on, arrival.

Bookings: a deposit, or payment in full, is required to secure all bookings.

Shortening length of stay: Once a number of dates are booked this cannot be changed to fewer nights. (Terms for cancellation will apply)

Changes to dates booked: On some occasions (during quieter months) I may be able to accommodate this, however it is not guaranteed and is always at the discretion of management. 

If I am not able to accept a change of dates the original booking will stand. (Terms for cancellation will apply).

Cancellations - no refund of deposits, or payments, received unless the dates can be re-booked, then a refund (less an administration fee) is possible.

Transfer of booking - the amount paid may be transferred to future dates: ** this is always at the discretion of management. NOTE: this option only applies to bookings made for quieter times of year.

**Transfer of monies to future dates will be subject to availability and any other restriction set down by the manager (i.e. holiday periods, minimum stay requirements etc.)

Booking transfers must be completed within 3 months of the original booking.

Notification: Please do NOT phone with cancellation notifications, or any other requests concerning bookings - e-mail only.

Bookings Confirmed Without Prior Payment: On occasions (i.e. emergency, government, insurance company or corporate bookings) a booking may be accepted without prior payment. Once a booking is confirmed full payment will be required whether dates are used or not.

(Special booking and payment agreements can be made with regular corporate clients.)

Please Read - Important notes on payments and cancellations: 
While I am personally sympathetic to many of the reasons people wish to change, shorten or cancel their bookings, I would ask you to consider my position.

The function of deposits/advance payments is to be sure of securing the unit you want on the dates you require, refunds and changes totally defeat their purpose. For a small property, such as Coghill Cottages, cancellations and changes are very costly and difficult.

If you have any concerns about advance payments I suggest:

        Wait until nearer your time of travel and take a chance on what may be available.

        Check your existing insurance policies.

        Consider taking out holiday insurance.

        Look for alternative accommodation.
